Requirements

  • Experience with data warehousing and data lake environments
  • Expertise in Python code development and maintenance
  • Knowledge of SQL query performance and optimization
  • Experience with ELT (Extract-Load-Transform) data pipelines
  • Familiarity with Snowflake data warehouse system
  • Experience with Terraform and AWS DMS
  • Knowledge of GitLab SCM and CI/CD
  • Experience with AWS Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Ability to work in a remote-first, distributed team environment

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor ELT data pipelines
  • Assume primary responsibilities for routine ELT pipeline add/change tasks and continual improvement
  • Serve as a point of escalation for SQL query performance or optimization questions
  • Enable product teams and stakeholders to integrate data into the Snowflake data warehouse system
  • Work with Data Engineering and SRE to improve observability and proactive alerting for ELT data pipelines
  • Maintain Subsplash data warehousing environment, including DBT, Python, Terraform, AWS DMS, Snowpipe, and related ELT tools
  • Ensure proper handling of PII and sensitive data in the data warehouse
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Python code development and maintenance
  • Work with the lead Data Engineer to assume primary responsibilities for operating and monitoring ELT data pipelines
