Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in a software/data engineering role
  • Ability to write high-quality, well-documented, high-performance code
  • Eager to learn new technologies and best practices in data engineering
  • Working knowledge of Python (required)
  • Working knowledge of one or more of: Java, SQL
  • Working knowledge of Docker
  • Working knowledge of Git
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, ECS)
  • Working knowledge of command line, Bash/zsh utilities, and interacting with cloud resources without GUI/web interface
  • Working knowledge of Databricks
  • Entrepreneurial and enthusiastic about fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and write concisely and clearly in English
  • Bachelor of Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent degree/qualifications/experience
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineering Associate or Professional (plus)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support components of the data platform, emphasizing data onboarding and automation
  • Automate data ingestion from various sources
  • Automate data processing, transformation, and quality checks
  • Work with various data systems to write distributed data pipelines and orchestrate real-time & batch processing
  • Participate in and champion the team’s code review process, promoting collaborative, respectful reviews, maintainable pipelines, and best practices
