Responsibilities

Own data infrastructure: collect, store, and transform data, including migrating data outliers to GCP and implementing a modern data stack using BigQuery, dbt, and Dagster
Enable data-driven strategy for leadership decisions in editorial, product, and revenue
Evaluate, research, test, and recommend vendor solutions for the data stack; decide what to build, buy, or integrate
Define the data future: establish best practices, build reliable pipelines, and create scalable systems
Drive projects to outcomes from start to finish, focusing on impact over perfection
Find creative uses for data, surface new sources, and automate workflows to save time
