Candidates should have experience working with production environments of any scale and a strong enthusiasm for exploring new cryptocurrency networks at a very low level, including specifications, implementation, and attack vectors. A demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and successfully ship to production is essential. Key technologies include Golang, Rust, Substrate, Tendermint, and expertise in low-level system hardening, as well as physical monitoring and security systems.
The Cryptocurrency Security Engineer will work with engineers to understand security risks and design wallets for new cryptocurrency protocols, while identifying suitable architectures and articulating residual security risks. They will collaborate with teams to design and harden new systems, covering the full lifecycle from code signing to deployment and access controls. The engineer will also instrument and generate high-signal alerts for off and on-chain environments to provide early indicators of compromise and plan responses to minimize production incidents. Additionally, they will evaluate the security of systems and open source dependencies, mitigating risks or prioritizing fixes with engineering teams.
