Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Engineering
  • Solid years of P&L experience as a controller, ideally with a focus on either R&D controlling or in multinational, matrix driven organization with a high regard for results-driven growth and profitability
  • Effective technical financial skills, balanced with sound business judgment
  • Proven interpersonal skills with a collegial, team-oriented style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
  • Forward thinking with a willingness to engage in all aspects of the business as well as flexibility and openness to changes
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office package, SAP (especially M. Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working together with Senior Product Line Controller, Global Energy Systems in all financial activities, processes and internal controls related to the R&D area of Energy Systems global organization, including the costs incurred by the Customer and Technology business area pertaining to the Energy Systems products
  • Plan, drive, report the monthly/quarterly financial results in the R&D area of Energy Systems and Customer and Technology
  • Drive the annual budgeting or strategic planning activities associated with the R&D activities
  • Ensure the accurate and timely allocation of the costs associated to the R&D projects. Align the collection of data into one report from the different sources (internal hours tracking systems, external spent project data, etc.)
  • Work on improving the internal tracking hours together with the Project Management team
  • Prepare variance analyses to improve project cost controlling (including deriving recommendations for action), as well as preparing ad-hoc evaluations
  • Monitor the execution of the projects associated to the R&D area in close alignment with the Finance Director of Energy Systems and R&D function
  • Develop and communicate internal labor rates on a frequent basis
  • Collaboration with product cost calculation and the controllers of the rest of the business units to ensure an accurate input into the business cases at hand
  • Ensure the maintenance of a sufficient internal control environment to comply with statutory and group reporting policies and rules
  • Assist in communication with Corporate Tax & CFS, Trade Compliance to ensure Clarios Advanced Solutions Europe complies with legal & statutory requirements
