High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Familiar with and basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc
Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills including understanding written instructions, maintaining production records, and calculating sums, differences, and fractions
Experience or training in welding, machining, mechanical repair, or metal working machinery operation beneficial
Ability to work in manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, variable temperature/humidity, noise, dirt) with physical hazards (powered vehicles, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding, materials handling, hazardous materials like coolant/solvents/oils/grease/pressurized gases)
Variable work schedule (8-12 hours daily, overtime after 40 hours, some Saturdays, at least 50% Extra Time)
Essential physical functions (heavy demands): regularly handle >60 lbs floor to knuckle, pull/push up to 50 lbs, lift up to 35 lbs knuckle to shoulder, up to 25 lbs shoulder to overhead; frequent standing/sitting/twisting/bending; occasional walking/elevated work/squatting/kneeling/climbing

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment (lathes, mills, drills, saws, automatic welders, benders, punches, shears, flame cuts, hi-definition & plasma, laser, heat treat, shot blast, etc.) while monitoring performance and carrying out operations in proper sequence
Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures/components, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools (wrenches, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.)
Use a computer to check location, inventory, and routing of parts and maintain production records
May read information from blueprints
Assemble components and perform other duties as assigned as a cross-functional team member
