Requirements

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or BS and comparable clinical experience
PGY-1 residency required; PGY-2 Emergency Medicine residency preferred
Active New Jersey pharmacy license

Responsibilities

Participates in patient rounds (or equivalent) with appropriate individuals including physicians, nurses and other health care providers
Evaluates medication prescribing patterns and identifies opportunities for improving drug therapy
Conducts Drug Use Evaluations
Provides education to patients/families, and other health care practitioners
Participates in medication safety initiatives
Works within key sub-specialty areas to develop and maintain specific routine monitoring criteria for these patients
Represents the Pharmacy Dept. in system wide and divisional committees as needed (e.g., Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Emergency Medicine Practice Council)
Provides pharmaceutical care according to professional standards and practices and complies with all Federal and State regulations
Collaborates with other specialties as needed
Serves as a resource for drug information
Develops guidelines and protocols
Provides education for pharmacy department and clinical departments as needed
Precepts pharmacy residents and pharmacy students
