Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, International Business, Operations, Logistics, or Engineering
  • English skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in classification and import/export compliance activities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 5%)

Responsibilities

  • General knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule on a global level following WCO rules and regulations
  • General knowledge of Global Country of Origin rules
  • Determine global HTS codes and COO for all products
  • Read and interpret Bills of Material, engineering drawings, and other technical data
  • Working knowledge of global Free Trade Agreements and how to determine eligibility
  • Create adequate backup documentation for product classifications and country of origin per department procedures
  • Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for missing classification data
  • Release orders on hold in the systems
  • Navigate SAP/IFS systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in daily transactions
  • Respond to classification inquiries from outside of the department
  • Work on projects as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with Rockwell Automation global procedures
  • Achieve results for monthly metrics
  • Handle daily transactional tasks and department projects as assigned
  • Determine accurate export/import classification data for standard and Engineered to Order (ETO) products using appropriate software tools and following RA Global Trade Compliance policies and procedures
  • Conduct analysis whether products qualify for different FTAs
  • Support global Company program and projects
  • Participate in global auditing of classification data
  • Through an understanding of both compliance processes and information systems, help discuss strategies and improvements within the department
