Requirements

Candidates must be pursuing education in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, or related fields. A track record of strong academic and/or project-based performance, along with exceptional communication and documentation skills, is required. Experience in chemical reactor design, assembly, and validation, process control systems, chemical separation and purification processes, solid-liquid separation and filtration, sourcing and integrating fluid control equipment, creating process flow diagrams and simulations, hydrogen handling and safety, sensor integration and data acquisition, and using AutoCAD for P&IDs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Co-ops will translate R&D work into prototypes and production units, measure and track performance metrics, and solve technical issues. They will design, build, and test reactor prototypes and test platforms, perform data analysis on test results, and create process flow diagrams, models, and simulations. Responsibilities also include producing and maintaining P&ID documentation, specifying and integrating COTS components, participating in design reviews, operating and maintaining pilot reactor subsystems, developing safety systems and protocols, and developing SOP documentation.

Found Energy

Transforms aluminum waste into hydrogen fuel

About Found Energy

Found Energy transforms aluminum waste into a renewable energy source, specifically targeting industries that depend on fossil fuels, like shipping and transportation. The company provides modular Fuel Packs that generate clean hydrogen for vessels. The process starts with low-quality aluminum scrap, which is used in the Fuel Packs. Once depleted, these packs are returned to Found Energy for restocking with aluminum waste. Found Energy sells and services these Fuel Packs at major terminals worldwide, utilizing existing port infrastructure for installation and maintenance. This approach offers a cost-effective solution for clients aiming to reduce their carbon footprint. By providing a renewable energy alternative that competes with fossil fuels in price and energy density, Found Energy supports industries in their decarbonization efforts and plays a significant role in the clean energy transition.
