  • Ability to work PRN (at least 2 shifts every 6 weeks), including day, evening, night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential job functions satisfactorily

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights)
  • Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff (e.g., transporting patients, assisting with ambulation, orienting/reorienting residents)
  • Documents concise and factual information on appropriate forms, including completed cares and reasons medications are not administered
  • Performs or assists with specific medical care activities (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares) under established policy and procedure
  • Provides feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain management, and concerns
  • Assists with restocking supplies, maintaining clean and safe work environment, and cleaning procedures
  • Participates in providing emotional and spiritual support for families
  • Complies with resident rights, including confidentiality, privacy, and reporting abuse or misappropriation
  • Follows policies on fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
  • Prepares, administers, and documents medication under supervision of a licensed nurse
