Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Residential Nursing Assistant certification
  • Ability to work part-time (at least 24 hours per pay period), day shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), with rotating weekends/holidays
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential job functions satisfactorily (reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities without undue hardship to employer)

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities, providing physical and emotional support
  • Develop close relationships with residents and their families, understanding individual needs and preferences
  • Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
  • Monitor the health and safety of residents, identifying potential hazards and ensuring quick access to help
  • Maintain cleanliness in residents’ living spaces
  • Notify nurses or supervisors about changes in residents' conditions
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' information
  • Follow established policies and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous and chemical communication
  • Mentor new employees and assist with their orientation
  • Lead by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards
