Requirements

Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
High School or GED Equivalent (preferred)
Less than 1 year related experience or training (preferred)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (PRN)

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights)
Ensure a clean environment, transport patients upon admission/dismissal, assist with ambulation, and orient/reorient residents to the facility for safety
Perform vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and document concise, factual information on appropriate forms
Assist residents with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares) and provide immediate feedback to nursing staff on changes in condition, pain, or concerns
Restock supplies, maintain work environment, and perform cleaning procedures
Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Comply with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy) and report allegations of abuse or misappropriation of property
Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
