Requirements

  • Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization)
  • Ability to travel to various locations and follow schedules set by the Relief program coordinator
  • Follow OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations
  • Ensure excellent patient experience and locate merchandise on the sales floor
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders
  • Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors, or Hospitals
  • Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models and counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products
  • Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products
  • Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs
  • Operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system, etc.)
  • Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body
  • Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet specific patient needs
  • Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, their community, etc.)
