Physician Advisor - Disability Peer Review (Forensic Pathology)

Position Overview

Dane Street is seeking a Board Certified Forensic Pathologist for a telework opportunity to provide supplemental income. This role involves reviewing and assessing cases relevant to disability claims, offering expert opinions on medical necessity and evaluating medical records according to client-specific policies and recognized standards of care. As an independent contract reviewer (1099), you will be compensated on a per-case basis with a caseload customized to your schedule.

Requirements

• Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Forensic Pathology.
• Active Medical License: Must hold an active medical license.
• Active Practice: Must be in active practice.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and analyze medical records related to forensic pathology to answer client inquiries using appropriate criteria and guidelines.
• Ensure determinations are clear, concise, and supported by adequate medical documentation.
• Identify and reference current clinical guidelines, evidence-based research, and peer-reviewed literature to substantiate objective decision-making.
• Provide timely and accurate reports, including any relevant criteria utilized during the review process.
• Complete reviews and return cases on or before specified deadlines.
• Conduct follow-up communications when required based on specific case needs.
• Maintain current licensure and fulfill all necessary certification requirements.
• Participate in orientation and training programs as mandated.
• Address quality assurance issues and engage in audits or additional reviews as needed.
