Requirements

  • Experience in the customer service or hospitality industry
  • 18+ years of age
  • Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Availability that meets cafe needs: Part-time (15-25 hours/week, 3 days including 2 peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday); Full-time (30-40 hours/week, 4-5 days including 2 peak days); weekend and holiday availability preferred
  • Authorized to work in the U.S
  • Friendly and enthusiastic team player with passion for excellent customer service
  • Reliable with ability to manage time, priorities, and urgency during busy periods
  • Passionate about creating coffee and cafe beverages
  • Strong independent problem solver with multi-tasking and communication skills
  • Curious, adaptable, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable working in a team or independently
  • Comfortable with cash-handling and maintaining store safety

Responsibilities

  • Delight customers with consistent, welcoming, and engaging customer service to turn them into regulars
  • Prepare drinks using world-class coffee program, equipment (Eversys Cameos and Shotmasters), and products
  • Complete all training to ensure proper food and beverage handling for freshness and quality
  • Implement systems to avoid product wastage, adjusting par levels based on business peaks and lows
  • Maintain NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH) standards at all times
  • Demonstrate full knowledge and adherence to all product, service, and brand training playbooks
  • Participate in operations and marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic, new customers, sales, profitability, and build a loyal customer base
