Candidates should have 3+ years of industry experience building and maintaining scalable high-quality software, proficiency in Python, and experience building both event-driven and request-driven microservices. A strong understanding of AWS services, hands-on SQL experience, and experience deploying, supporting, and operating applications on Kubernetes are required. Familiarity with Agile practices, experience in a startup environment, and authorization to work in the US are also necessary.
The Backend Engineer II will build and maintain back-end services, participate in an on-call rotation, and respond to system outages. They will collaborate across disciplines to provide technical designs and estimates, protect user privacy and security, and design for long-term optimization while delivering iteratively. The role also involves ideating on new features, working with data for insights, and researching new tools and technologies.
