Requirements

  • Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program
  • Must be returning to school to continue your education upon completing this internship
  • Good academic standing
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026
  • At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
  • Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
  • Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox
  • Experience with software development languages (Python and C++ preferred)
  • Experience with JavaScript/Typescript for front end development
  • Experience building cross-platform software with source control (Git)
  • Understanding of hardware testing and verification methods

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack applications to support and enhance QA Engineering processes (Tools and Automation team)
  • Build scalable and efficient systems that integrate with various internal tools (Tools and Automation team)
  • Contribute to automation solutions to improve efficiency and streamline processes (Tools and Automation team)
  • Automate the existing release workflow by developing new tooling and enhancing existing ones (Release Management team)
  • Develop dashboards to visualize the status of a release or trends of metrics across releases (Release Management team)
  • Automate the approval process, from ingest of test results to sign off and deployment (Release Management team)
  • Develop feature flag management tools (Release Management team)
  • Propose tool and/or feature ideas to the team to improve and streamline processes (Release Management team)
  • Write software to help integrate internal and external tools for automated firmware prototyping, development, testing and integration (Firmware Tools team)
  • Develop software for an automated validation framework, supporting continuous integration (CI) and nightly tests (Firmware Tools team)
  • Propose tool and/or feature ideas to the team to improve processes (Firmware Tools team)
  • Integrate tester software systems with server infrastructure (Firmware Tools team)
  • Design and implement automated test framework optimizations (Firmware Tools team)
