Requirements

Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience in tax, accounting, or a related field. A strong understanding of core accounting concepts and an interest in developing tax-specific expertise is required, along with proven ability to manage recurring compliance tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Associate Tax Analyst will oversee the preparation and filing of monthly U.S. sales and use tax returns using Avalara Returns, including data review, exception handling, and reconciliation. They will monitor and research sales tax notices, prepare monthly reconciliations for indirect and direct tax accounts, and assist with quarterly/annual corporate income tax provision calculations and SOX controls. The role also involves assisting with indirect tax audit responses, taxability and nexus research, supporting international tax efforts, and implementing process improvements.
