Requirements
- Experience in investor relations, capital raising, or real estate finance (debt and equity)
- Proficiency in financial analysis, underwriting, and due diligence for real estate projects (e.g., market studies, budget reviews, lease analyses, borrower financials)
- Knowledge of real estate sectors (multifamily, industrial, affordable housing) and trends
- Familiarity with CRM systems for tracking interactions and pipelines
- Understanding of financing types (CMHC, conventional debt, construction loans, term mortgages, corporate credit facilities)
- Ability to monitor portfolio risks, covenant compliance, and performance metrics
- Skills in market analysis, macroeconomic risks, and benchmarking against indices
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for institutional investors, managing inquiries on project status, performance, market updates, risks, hedging, and returns
- Prepare and distribute quarterly investor reports, pitch decks, due diligence materials, and investment documentation
- Foster and maintain relationships with joint-venture partners, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors
- Maintain CRM systems to track interactions and fundraising pipelines
- Support capital raising by coordinating due diligence requests and managing investor data rooms
- Coordinate execution of investor documentation (subscription agreements, shareholder agreements, legal contracts)
- Support underwriting for CMHC and conventional debt financing and equity investments
- Conduct due diligence: market studies, budget reviews, lease analyses, borrower financial assessments
- Monitor portfolio risks, including covenant compliance, maturity rollovers, and operator/property performance
- Collaborate with asset management to align investor reporting with asset-level performance
- Research real estate trends and benchmark against indices
- Analyze macroeconomic and sector-specific risks for investor communications and underwriting
- Track performance metrics of investments and compare to proforma projections
- Aggregate and analyze project performance data for investor discussions and strategic decisions
- Support internal reviews and audits related to investor contributions and distributions
- Partner with finance, acquisitions, and legal teams to structure transactions and ensure regulatory compliance
