Dataminr's Editors are crucial to the company's success by ensuring the quality of alerts and advancing the AI platform. As an Editor on the Domain Expert team, you will annotate, label, and edit signals from data feeds in real-time. You will be integral to the algorithm training process and the human-AI feedback loop, integrating key knowledge domains into AI models. You will also contribute to defining new factors for improving alerts, data source coverage, machine learning, and AI models.

This role involves working weekends primarily between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm AEDT and 8:00 am - 4:00 pm AEST, with potential for projects and meetings outside of standard business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally with a concentration in linguistics, English, international affairs, or history.
  • Deep understanding of geopolitical risk issues affecting all continents and industries.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment in both English and relevant languages, if necessary.
  • Passion for breaking news, current world events, technology, and a strong understanding of social media and publicly available data.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Foreign language expertise is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze data feeds and signal quality.
  • Annotate complex breaking news events.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to improve AI models.
  • Make real-time decisions with incomplete data.
  • Collaborate and communicate within a team on daily priorities.
  • Identify and escalate software issues to product and engineering teams.
