Dataminr's Editors are crucial to the company's success, ensuring the highest quality alerts for clients and advancing the AI platform. As an Editor on the Domain Expert team, you will annotate, label, and edit signals from data feeds in real-time. You will be integral to the algorithm training process and the real-time human-AI feedback loop, integrating key knowledge domains into AI models. You will also define new factors to improve alerts, data source coverage, and machine learning/AI models.

Work Schedule: Requires working 10:00 am - 6:00 pm AEDT and 8:00 am - 4:00 pm AEST, with potential projects and meetings outside of business hours, including weekends on rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; ideally with a concentration in linguistics, English, international affairs, or history.
  • Deep understanding of geopolitical risk issues affecting all continents and industries.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment in both English and relevant languages, if necessary.
  • Passion for breaking news, current world events, technology, and a strong understanding of social media and publicly available data.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Foreign language expertise is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze data feeds and signal quality.
  • Annotate complex breaking news events.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to improve AI models.
  • Make real-time decisions with incomplete data.
  • Collaborate and communicate within a team-centric environment on daily priorities.
  • Identify software issues and escalate them to product and engineering teams.
