Requirements

Candidates must possess an advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, BSN, MSN, MS, MA, GC) with a doctoral degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in oncology and molecular diagnostic testing within the biotech or pharmaceutical industries is preferred, along with experience in Medical Information. A fundamental understanding of molecular oncology, clinical patient management diagnostic algorithms, and guidelines from NCCN, ASCO, and ESMO is essential. The role requires keen attention to detail, exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills, strong inter- and intradepartmental management abilities, and public speaking proficiency. Working knowledge of genomic laboratory developed testing (LDT) and companion diagnostic (CDx) devices, familiarity with CLIA, CAP, Sunshine Act, and FDA regulated diagnostic tests are necessary. Candidates must reside within the U.S. and be able to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Scientific Affairs will serve as an internal scientific/technical expert for all Tempus oncology test offerings and contribute to the development of scientifically accurate marketing messages and collateral. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving oncology marketing promotional content, providing strategic and tactical medical support to commercial-facing teams, and aiding in the recruitment and management of direct reports. The role involves overseeing the global medical information support team, identifying and closing internal education gaps, and updating internal stakeholders on medical and scientific knowledge. Additionally, the position requires developing market intelligence on competitor products and attending key oncology congresses to synthesize and share learnings.
