Requirements

  • Based in London (contractual location; other locations not considered)
  • Experience in private debt markets within Aviva or at a lending institution operating in competing markets
  • Lending background
  • Understanding of Credit Risk (First Line) role
  • Understanding of key investment/commercial risk factors that need to be assessed in reviewing private debt assets (new and existing)
  • Strong analytical/reporting abilities
  • Natural attention to detail
  • Good stakeholder lending management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management - ability to manage competing demands of multiple stakeholders in a proactive positive way
  • Able to be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), including passing regulatory background checks and annual fitness and propriety assessments

Responsibilities

  • Support origination and monitoring of private debt exposures (secured and unsecured) within the Aviva Investors Private Markets business
  • Report to Directors across sector coverage (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Structured Finance, and Corporate Debt)
  • Provide formal oversight of new lending propositions presented by deal origination teams
  • Monitor the existing debt portfolio managed by AI for internal and external fund clients
  • Review lending submissions/reviews
  • Ensure appropriate risk and rating factors have been considered
  • Provide clear opinions to support approval/rejection of lending propositions
  • Attend internal and external client/stakeholder meetings
  • Explain risk drivers impacting the portfolio
