Requirements

General understanding of architectural plans and specifications
Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or similar, and ability to use it to complete tasks
Project Planning and Scheduling: Ability to read and understand detailed project plans, timelines, schedules, logistics, and key milestones
Contract Management: Basic understanding of construction contract types
Written and Oral Communication: Strong communication skills in person, on the phone, and digitally; ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively
Construction Knowledge: Good overview of the technical aspects of construction
Budget and Financial Management: Working knowledge of construction financial systems and typical documentation (tracking budgets, cash flow models, reviewing payment requisitions, change order control)
Organized and Disciplined: Methodical and motivated self-starter
Knowledge of Construction Management Software (Procore, eBuilder, SAP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures
Basic understanding of MEPS systems and components
Familiarity with local zoning and permit requirements (preferred)
Some bid leveling experience (a plus)
Preferred bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or technical training (or combination of education and work experience)

Responsibilities

Assist project managers with coordinating activities, schedules, consultants, and trade contractors
Attend project meetings and create and distribute meeting minutes
Walk jobsites and track work progress and quality
Assist project manager in developing project budgets and payment schedules
Assist team with processing contract approvals, change orders, and permit approval requests
Assist team with RFIs/Shops/Submittals and Payment Requisitions, including demand payments
Track trade contractor insurance coverage and ensure current certificates of insurance are on file
Assist team and consultants with completing all permit filings
Develop effective communication mechanisms for positive working relationships among all project participants
Assist with coordinating efforts of external project stakeholders (architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, laborers)
Liaise with internal stakeholders (Property Management, RXR Leasing Team, Asset Management, RXR Development Services)
Assist with project reporting and ensure project documents are complete and accurate
