  • Ability to identify coins and associated varieties, including counterfeit detection
  • Possess a solid and high degree of personal education in numismatics
  • Up-to-date on the latest coin alteration techniques and grading issues
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to focus on coins for long periods of time and maintain detail orientation
  • Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time
  • Regular hand use for various tasks
  • Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Using vision aiding devices, as well as sitting in dark or dimly lit rooms with soft desk lighting

Responsibilities

  • Review, authenticate, and assess the condition of coins for grading and encapsulation
  • Improve knowledge and skill with experience and numismatic research
  • Maintain individual PCGS Grading production goals
  • Maintain quality of grading product
  • Complete other coin processing/evaluation duties as assigned by leaders in the grading room
