Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of coins
Ability to identify coins and associated varieties, including counterfeit detection
Possess a solid and high degree of personal education in numismatics
Up-to-date on the latest coin alteration techniques and grading issues
Effective problem-solving skills
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to focus on coins for long periods of time and maintain detail orientation
Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time
Regular hand use for various tasks
Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions
Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 55 pounds
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Using vision aiding devices, as well as sitting in dark or dimly lit rooms with soft desk lighting

Responsibilities

Review, authenticate, and assess the condition of coins for grading and encapsulation
Improve knowledge and skill with experience and numismatic research
Maintain individual PCGS Grading production goals
Maintain quality of grading product
Complete other coin processing/evaluation duties as assigned by leaders in the grading room
