Requirements

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and supporting software for automated measurements, detection, and classification in ultrasound imaging
  • Ability to author software requirements and design specifications, manage scheduling, estimate efforts, and oversee implementation as a feature lead
  • Proficiency in developing and executing unit, integration, and system tests for validation
  • Skills in defining data collection plans, annotation protocols for segmentation and caliper placement, dataset curation including stratification, pathology/anatomy types, confounders, and metadata
  • Experience collaborating on model architecture, generating augmentations, and validating data for SSL pretraining and multi-task learning
  • Capability to integrate AI models into ultrasound platforms, implement pre- and post-processing pipelines, and ensure seamless UI/UX integration
  • Knowledge of designing evaluation strategies for model accuracy, segmentation quality, measurement error, subgroup analyses, and cross-system performance validation
  • Understanding of identifying technical/clinical risks, proposing mitigations, and ensuring compliance with quality, privacy, security, and regulatory standards
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology for collaboration
  • Ability to mentor engineers, promote best practices via static analysis, design/code reviews
  • Technical leadership skills for driving engineering best practices, roadmaps, and large-scale programs

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI features for GE Healthcare's Medical Ultrasound products, adhering to quality and performance standards
  • Author software requirements and design specifications, manage scheduling, estimate efforts, and oversee implementation
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests throughout development cycles
  • Define data collection plans aligned with regulatory and performance requirements
  • Develop annotation protocols for segmentation and caliper placement with clinical partners
  • Curate datasets by defining stratification categories, pathology/anatomy types, confounders, and metadata; organize and summarize datasets for training, validation, and testing
  • Collaborate with AI Scientists on model architecture, generate augmentations, and validate data readiness for SSL pretraining and multi-task learning
  • Integrate AI models into the ultrasound platform and implement pre- and post-processing pipelines for inferencing
  • Design evaluation strategies for accuracy, segmentation quality, measurement errors; conduct subgroup analyses and validation studies
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation plans; ensure compliance with quality, privacy, security, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate in Agile Scrum to deliver high-quality software
  • Mentor engineers using static analysis, design reviews, and code reviews
  • Lead by example in engineering best practices, develop roadmaps and implementation plans for large-scale programs
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing efficiency, eliminating duplication, and leveraging reuse
  • Write code meeting standards, assess application performance
  • Proactively share information across the team
