Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in technical accounting policy within financial services and/or public accounting (in professional practice or accounting advisory)
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, and a comprehensive understanding of financial statements and legal entity reporting (knowledge of GAAPs in additional jurisdictions, such as the UK, is a plus)
  • Experience in researching and interpreting complex accounting literature, with a strong background in drafting policy documents and preparing technical accounting analyses
  • Prior work in the finance industry and an understanding of the regulatory environment is preferred
  • Organised and a clear communicator; able to build strong collaborative relationships across teams
  • Excellent time management skills; comfortable handling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a positive approach to problem solving
  • Self-motivated to improve processes where possible
  • Relevant accounting qualifications required
  • Fluency in English required
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working to deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Support local and global accounting operations
  • Work closely with colleagues across global offices to analyse the implementation of accounting standards where the firm operates
  • Drive the ongoing development and enhancement of global accounting policies
  • Apply US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable standards, taking into account the business environment, market practices, and the nature of operations
  • Collaborate with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy matters
