Requirements

  • Entry-level position for new graduates

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry-level engineering work activities and projects requiring application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic manner
  • Apply entry-level knowledge and experience in theory to solve well-defined problems or provide analysis, with guidance from higher-level engineers
  • Assist higher-level engineers in handling well-defined portions of more complex problems and analyses
  • Exhibit fundamental understanding of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment and gain familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems, and business processes
  • Coordinate work activities of others as required to resolve routine engineering tasks
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures, with activities monitored by higher-level employees
  • Provide input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling, monitor project status, recommend actions, prepare cost estimates using established standards, and develop understanding of workflow for routine engineering projects
  • Actively seek out information and understanding of engineering problems and solution techniques, apply basic techniques to perform analysis for routine technical problems, and use initiative for new ideas and approaches
  • Assist and participate in the preparation of reports and technical papers, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, listen to and understand instructions, and request clarification as required
  • Begin networking with peers, understand others' perspectives, develop effective relationships, and demonstrate ability to be a team player
  • Make routine decisions subject to review under guidance of higher-level employees and contribute to team decision-making
  • Demonstrate attitude to satisfy internal and external customers, apply economic analysis techniques, pursue effective environmental protection while providing reliable electricity, participate in professional organizations, and develop understanding of department roles
