Candidates must possess a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in controls, systems, or electrical engineering and have at least 15 years of experience in systems design, with over 10 years specifically in developing automotive motion function systems. Experience in developing fail-operational/fail-safe concepts and related system diagnostics based on functional safety standards (ISO26262 or equivalent) is required. Proficiency in requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or Siemens Polarion is essential, along with a strong foundation in vehicle dynamics, closed-loop control theory, and real-time embedded control design.
The Staff Motion Control Integration Engineer will lead the development of motion control systems, including drivetrain, braking, steering, active suspension, and remote robot control, utilizing agile methodologies for rapid integration and verification. They will oversee system design and establish integration and verification plans to meet performance, safety, and cybersecurity requirements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure proper function allocation and interface design is crucial. The engineer will also drive integration and verification strategies for both standard and off-nominal test conditions, refining requirements as necessary, and mentor system integration engineers while participating in supplier evaluations to ensure effective implementation of requirements and testing protocols.
