Requirements

Associate's Degree in Sonography or Associate's or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology
RDMS (OB/GYN) - American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 Year
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work PRN hours (as needed, day shift)

Responsibilities

Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians according to established standards and practices
Explain procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
Position patients and select appropriate transducer based on depth of field, organ to be identified, etc
Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment, move scanner over specified body areas, and adjust equipment to focus
Make hard copy images as directed and document tests
Assist physician in procedures such as amniocentesis
Participate in the quality assessment and improvement plan, assuming responsibility for specific quality control duties
Assist with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation
Assist physicians and enter data into report system
Monitor inventory of supplies, order and manage expired items, and notify appropriate individual when stock is low
