Requirements

Candidates should possess 3+ years of related work experience as a skilled engineer, demonstrating a passion for quality and strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures. Experience with programming languages such as Golang, PHP, and Javascript is preferred, along with expertise in API design (REST & RPC) utilizing frameworks like protobuf, gRPC, and OpenAPI. Furthermore, candidates should have experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, and modern tools like Docker, ECS, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB, S3, and experience embedding 3rd party software solutions.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer 3 will work independently to solve complex, highly ambiguous customer-facing problems, scope, specify, design, implement, and deliver software solutions while applying modern industry best practices. They will own the quality of their work through thorough testing and writing automated tests, collaborating with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to determine requirements and deliver complex problems. Additionally, they will write high-quality, modular code, investigate and debug issues, provide coaching to junior team members, and engage in technical discussions and process improvement through documentation and code reviews. They will also be responsible for building systems with appropriate monitoring and observability, including fault tolerance techniques.
