The Opportunity:

We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Full Stack Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. The Work Itself:

• Design, code, and implement systems that touch the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, value-added service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-users, B2C, and B2B customers.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Identity and Authentication Platform.

Essential Functions:

• Works alongside others to implement modifications to existing software code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
• Assists with improvements to systems and tools and supports the development and implementation of new automation, asking questions as necessary.
• Engages with team members during code/design reviews, participates in on-call rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
• Works closely with engineering leads, engineers, product managers, architects, and client support teams to lead product development throughout the entire development cycle. This role requires logical thinking, a breadth of knowledge on applying technology, quick troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Consistently applies sound engineering practices leading to improved business outcomes.
• Works closely with product owners, architects, and team members to drive and facilitate feature and user story grooming, write functional and technical specifications, workflow designs, and use cases.
• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assesses and evaluates their adoption into the organization.
• Is flexible to accommodate cross-region team development/collaboration and address urgent production issues.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• BS degree in Computer Science or other related fields with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Java and web service development; OR MS degree in Computer Science or other related fields with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Java and web service development.
• Track record of delivering scalable applications.
• In-depth knowledge in web services standards and related technologies: REST API, Microservices, JavaScript, React.js, and Containers.
• Solid understanding of data.
