Senior Performance Tester

Position Overview

Smile Digital Health is seeking a Senior Performance Tester to join our team and contribute to our mission of #BetterGlobalHealth. Our innovative FHIR-based data liberation platform is used in over 20 countries, enabling healthcare stakeholders to manage and exchange health data effectively.

As a Senior Performance Tester, you will be instrumental in ensuring the scalability, responsiveness, and reliability of our software systems. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, development, and infrastructure teams to define performance requirements, manage test data and environments, execute test scenarios, analyze results, and compile comprehensive test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress, load, regression, and performance testing to validate the production readiness of software applications and infrastructure for stability and performance.
• Model performance scenarios, conduct initial analysis, and identify potential system and resource bottlenecks.
• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing requirements are identified and included in the test plan, ensuring coherent, consistent, and complete delivered solutions.
• Design, develop, and execute performance test plans across multiple projects by analyzing requirements, documenting results, and working with teammates to identify root causes.
• Analyze Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and identify the most suitable test strategy/approach.
• Collect, analyze, and report performance testing results to cross-functional teams.
• Gain a detailed understanding of the highly technical features and functionality of Smile Digital Health’s products to plan for testing and other QA activities.
• Review performance test scripts to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide recommendations to improve product performance and scalability.
• Design, implement, and maintain performance test frameworks.
• Use JMeter (or similar tools) to design and execute load and performance tests against API and Web applications.
• Design and execute daily load benchmarks as well as larger, system-level tests.
• Ensure all working hours are accurately reported in Netsuite on a daily or weekly basis, with the majority tracked as billable, and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized. Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and is a major area of accountability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Performance Testing.
• Experience with Service Virtualization and Performance test data management tools.
• Experience with application monitoring, alerting, and log tracing tools.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL databases.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.
• Good understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile project experience.
• Experience with MS Azure or one of the other major public cloud vendors is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Azure CLI, distributed JMeter execution, OAuth 2.0 API Authorization, and Linux bash is highly preferred.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant work experience.
