Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Required experience includes 8+ years with Swift, 6+ years with CoreData, and 2+ years with Protocol Buffers and gRPC. Experience with JWT, OAuth 2.0, Uber RIBs/VIPER/MVVM architecture patterns, executing and synchronizing shared background tasks/services, and reactive programming languages like RxSwift and Combine is also necessary. The role requires comfort with rapid experimentation, high agency development, quick iteration timelines, and a passion for quality, along with proven experience in developing and implementing automated test strategies and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Senior iOS Engineer 2 will work on a cross-functional team, cooperating closely with Product, Data Engineering, and Data Science. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining networking, data, and authorization frameworks that enable core functionality in the Life360 app. They will build and maintain high-throughput systems emitting meta and sensor data to Kafka streams. Additionally, the role involves participating in candidate interviews and improving the candidate experience by providing feedback. The engineer will also pioneer new test strategies via automation to enhance testing reliability and efficiency and communicate with multiple teams, including systems and product teams, and potentially external partners.
