ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their team and help build a petabyte-scale, high-performance observability platform with a strong focus on developer experience. The role involves shaping the product by owning and building key features, engaging with the open-source community, and tackling complex technical challenges to enhance the HyperDX platform.

ClickHouse is revolutionizing Observability for Developers with the integration of HyperDX, an open-source platform designed to transform telemetry data into actionable insights. HyperDX aims to seamlessly combine logs, metrics, traces, and session replays for faster root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the product: Own and build key features, focusing on frontend and backend systems that streamline debugging and monitoring for developers.
  • Engage with the community: Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers, solve their challenges, and incorporate their feedback into our roadmap.
  • Tackle technical challenges: Supercharge HyperDX to process petabytes of observability data efficiently. Develop groundbreaking analysis tools and scale the cloud-hosted platform for a growing customer base.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience (experience building developer tools is a bonus).
  • Strong TypeScript skills (Next.js frontend and Express backend).
  • Proficiency in at least one front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Proficiency in SQL for query generation on Clickhouse.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • A passion for open source and the developer community.
  • Experience creating developer tooling and a keen understanding of designing for developers.
  • Creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driven to ship features that make a tangible impact for customers.
  • Eager to learn and push boundaries, embracing new technologies and approaches.
  • Passion for software and the desire to create with minimal interruptions.

  • Expertise in distributed systems and event ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience working with columnar databases.
  • Strong opinions on observability tools and a vision for improvement.
  • Familiarity with additional languages like Rust or PHP for building integrations.

Compensation

  • New York Area / San Francisco Area: $139,000 - $209,500 USD
  • General US Remote: $120,000 - $175,000 USD
  • Los Angeles, CA / Washington, DC: $125,000 - $188,550 USD
