Requirements

  • Solid programming skills in C and C++ for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M or comparable)
  • Experience with bare-metal firmware development and familiarity with RTOS concepts; ideally practical experience with Zephyr
  • Connectivity: BLE and WLAN including protocols, stacks, and profile integration
  • Development, build, and test expertise: CI/CD in embedded environments (build server, firmware signing, automated tests) as well as secure handling of debug tools (JTAG/SWD, trace, log analysis) and measurement/test equipment
  • Embedded security: Secure Boot, encryption methods, key storage, secure OTA mechanisms
  • Agile working and proven experience in interdisciplinary teams
  • Good German skills; English skills for technical documentation and communication

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) on bare-metal and RTOS level (preferably Zephyr)
  • Development and integration of modern communication protocols (BLE)
  • Implementation of cybersecurity measures for embedded systems (e.g., Secure Boot, encryption, secure OTA update mechanisms)
  • Setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for embedded projects (tooling, build automation, test automation)
  • Collaboration in agile, interdisciplinary project teams (hardware, system architecture, QA, product management)
  • Participation in architecture and design reviews, troubleshooting, and error analysis at system and integration level
  • Creation of technical documentation, specifications, and security-relevant proofs
