Requirements

  • Strong understanding of business and operational processes within Target’s Supply Chain and Target Marketplace
  • In-depth understanding of the various systems and processes that influence Digital order fulfillment speed & costs
  • Ability to design, develop, deploy and maintain data science models and tools
  • Experience working closely with applied data scientists, data analysts, business partners, engineers, and peer teams
  • Hands-on experience partnering across teams to define business problems, formalize them algorithmically, perform data discovery to insights/predictions, and prototype solutions
  • Proficiency in analyzing data to identify and propose feature enhancements, and designing/implementing features to improve product scope
  • Expertise in developing machine learning, optimization/statistical/Discrete event simulation models to solve problems in promise, allocation, and digital fulfillment on large data
  • Skills in integrating models into production code base with robust test coverage
  • Knowledge of modular architecture and good software development/engineering practices to enhance product performance
  • Ability to produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Experience coordinating analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues in models and software
  • Capability to generate analyses and project artefacts to document, archive, and communicate work and outcomes
  • Experience building self-service tools for error detection, diagnosis, and predictive metrics

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy scalable and reproducible data science models for a variety of business problems
  • Work hands-on and actively partner across the team – defining business problems, formalizing problems algorithmically, data discovery to insights/predictions, and prototyping solutions
  • Analyze data to identify and propose feature enhancements; design and implement features to improve product scope
  • Develop machine learning, optimization/statistical/Discrete event simulation models to solve problems in promise, allocation, and digital fulfillment on large data
  • Integrate models into production code base with robust test coverage
  • Adopt modular architecture and good software development/engineering practices to enhance overall product performance
  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Coordinate the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues in the models and software
  • Generate analyses and other project artefacts to document, archive, and communicate work and outcomes
  • Build self-service tools for error detection, diagnosis, and predictive metrics
  • Collaborate with Product, Tech, and business partners to solve retail challenges at scale for the fulfillment network
  • Continuously learn and understand evolving business needs in Supply Chain Data Science, particularly Digital Fulfillment Planning
