Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, and software engineering, including experience with open-source data science tools
  • Experience with Recommender Systems is a plus
  • Required Skills (4+ years of experience): Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow/Keras, NumPy, Pandas, XGBoost), SQL, A/B testing, statistical modeling, data visualization
  • Preferred Skills: Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, SageMaker)
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and take a data science project from inception, research, experimentation, validation, and deployment
  • Passionate about inventing and applying advanced analytical and ML techniques to extract insights and solve business problems
  • Experience developing large-scale data applications backed by relational and non-relational databases (utilizing Kafka, Java, Python, Postgres, SQL, K8s, Jenkins, and Airflow in AWS)
  • Great communicator who can distill a challenging problem into its essential elements and clearly communicate vision and findings to the team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • Hybrid role requiring work from Seattle, WA headquarters every Tuesday and Wednesday (fully remote candidates also considered)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex real estate problems
  • Perform comprehensive Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to understand data structure, distributions, and anomalies
  • Apply feature engineering techniques—including transformation, selection, and creation—to optimize model performance
  • Co-create the next generation of data-driven insights for automated valuation and recommender systems
  • Identify and implement improvements to ML models that power production-scale customer-facing experiences
  • Assist other engineers and stakeholders in understanding and utilizing data science methodologies and findings
  • Build data products and analytical tools that drive the company's most critical metrics and impact revenue growth
