Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience with at least three in automation/scripting
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Strong understanding of mobile application ecosystems, including Android and iOS environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps
  • Understanding/experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including independent judgment and decision-making skills, where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues, status and recommendations to leadership
  • Act with urgency and time management skills to meet deliverables and manage multiple projects and unplanned work
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Technical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with limited direction
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MPG advanced driver’s training
  • Extensive background in automated and manual testing, particularly with Autobot
  • Deep understanding of web and mobile application testing
  • Electrification feature knowledge
  • Vehicle and instrumentation troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for vehicle charging features using Python, Autobot and GitHub
  • Define and enforce quality standards, create test plans, and develop testing strategies for web and mobile applications, and charging features
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitHub actions to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality testing
  • Promote efficiencies via tool development and identify redundancies / gaps
  • Identify additional automation virtualization opportunities and lead their implementation
  • Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA/Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS), and work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently
  • Work with product managers, developers, feature owners and quality engineers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Guide and mentor others in processes, best practices, frameworks, and tools
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements, and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities
