Candidates must possess an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, along with either a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience or a Ph.D. degree with demonstrated research experience in a related discipline. U.S. Citizenship is required, and knowledge of structural simulations using programs like NASTRAN, LS-DYNA, or ABQUS is necessary. Familiarity with simulation tool development for performance and manufacturing processes, polymer composite processing concepts, and composite testing procedures is also required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration.
The Researcher will innovate through next-generation ideas, suggest new project areas, and establish technical plans for vehicle lightweighting technology. They will conduct research and experiments to collect data and validate research ideas, plan and execute collaborative scientific or engineering research, and maintain awareness of state-of-the-art advancements. Responsibilities also include writing timely and high-quality research reports, external publications, and records of invention, preparing technical reports and presentations, generating intellectual property, and assisting other employees with their project goals.
