Position Overview

Brafton, a leading global content marketing firm with offices in Boston, London, and Sydney, is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer. This is a remote, full-time contract position open to candidates in Trinidad and Tobago. The role involves developing effective user interfaces on client websites using WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and other LAMP Stack CMS, utilizing HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP. You will collaborate closely with Graphic Design and Consulting teams to build websites from mockups, troubleshoot issues, and create innovative solutions to enhance visual appeal, usability, and accessibility.

Core Objectives

• Support and learn a variety of techniques to stay at the cutting edge of web development.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of dynamic web development in PHP and familiarity with programming against database platforms like MySQL.
• Possess overall experience with HTML, WordPress, Drupal, and other basic web design skills.
• Develop custom themes and plugins using PHP and limited plugins for multiple CMSs.
• Maintain a customer-friendly, consultative approach, and be willing to communicate directly with clients and developers via phone and email to effectively solve problems.

Requirements & Skills

• At least 2 years of experience building websites with and without WordPress.
• Required Skills: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, PHP, WordPress, overall creative web design process with the ability to follow brand standards.
• Nice to Have Skills: MySQL, Git, XML, Drupal, Joomla, React, Angular.
• An interest and general understanding of programming is crucial, along with a willingness to learn new skills and resolve technical and programmatic problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a collaborative environment.
• Contractors must provide their own industry hardware and a stable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Develop user interfaces on client websites using HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP.
• Utilize WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and other LAMP Stack CMS.
• Work closely with Graphic Design and Consulting teams to build websites based on provided mockups.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on client websites.
• Create innovative solutions to improve website visual appeal, usability, and accessibility.

Remote Work & Logistics

• This is a 100% remote working role.
• While your immediate supervisor is based in Boston, you will operate day-to-day in your local timezone.
• Flexibility to adjust your schedule for occasional meetings or calls with staff and clients in Australia, New Zealand, or the US West Coast is required.
• You must be equipped to operate effectively from your own workspace and be comfortable with pure remote/home-based working.
• Brafton is heavily remote-focused and agile, well-adapted to remote working practices.
• Compensation is based on the local cost of living and will be paid in USD.
