Requirements
- BS degree (5+ years of experience) or MS degree (2+ years of experience) in finance or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
- Proficient in financial systems SAP and BI, with ability to identify and retrieve cost information at a granular level
- Prior finance operational experience with practical knowledge of relevant processes and shared service experience (a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization, exhibiting leadership qualities
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Ability to critically review and improve initiative metrics
- Problem solving mindset, with a strong passion for driving a simplification agenda
- Ability to work in a very demanding and resource constraint environment
- Proven track record for achievement, results-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal English skills, along with quantitative, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Execute month end process for Clinical R&D, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions in an effective manner
- Lead monthly spend forecasting (including assessment of risks/opportunities)
- Serve as financial lead on CapEx process for Clinical with business counterpart
- Lead the annual indirect TFC budget for headcount and personnel cost in related markets
- Act as liaison with key stakeholders and assist in variance analysis and journal entry preparation
- Collaborate in monthly financial reviews / quarter business reviews, including templates, deck preparation, variance analysis, insights, comments, and presentation
- Assist in PO troubleshooting as needed
- Ensure adequate accounting, reporting, and control systems are in place to reach proper levels of forecast accuracy, identify and inform of potential risks and opportunities, and ensure delivery of productivity targets
- Disciplined use of financial systems (ASPIRE, APMR, SAP, etc.) to manage and perform analytical analysis of financial results
- Ownership and accountability of data integrity
- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvements to drive value creation
- Support Associate Director of Finance R&D deliverables, including template design, ad-hoc analysis, etc
- Support monthly spend forecasting (including assessment of risks/opportunities), variance analysis with concise commentary, and CapEx financial management
- Consult with business leaders and R&D finance team to ensure proper allocation of resources, Opex and CapEx expenses
