Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on web applications and APIs. Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python is required, along with hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or TestNG. Expertise with REST APIs, HTTP, and modern web technologies is necessary, as is strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and authentication protocols such as OAuth2 and JWT. Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate, proficiency with CI/CD tools and workflows, and experience working with version control systems (Git) are also required. Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools like Jira or TestRail, strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills, and experience with containerized and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP) are essential. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
The Test Automation Engineer will design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing of web applications and APIs. They will create and manage end-to-end automated test cases using tools such as Playwright or Cypress, and integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions. The engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities throughout the SDLC, conduct code reviews, and enforce automation best practices. They will also analyze test results, report defects, collaborate with developers to resolve issues efficiently, and monitor, maintain, and continuously improve the automated test suite health. Additionally, the role involves researching, evaluating, and recommending new automation tools, technologies, and frameworks.
