Requirements

8+ years of relevant working experience working on complex Android-based products
Banking domain experience (welcome bonus)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Result-oriented engineer familiar with Agile software development practices and methodologies
Accustomed to translating high-level business requirements into technical designs and coaching peers to do the same
Strong engineering culture and thrives in a complex domain
Comfortable with security and other non-functionals, upholding high standards
Knowledge of AI practices and ideas for innovative uses of AI
Technical experience with architecture patterns like MVVM, VIPER or MVP
Knowledge of all aspects of the SDLC and experience working in a CI/CD fashion

Expert in mobile development for Android, able to teach best practices
Proficient in Java and Kotlin
Understands the value of proper documentation, automation, and other aspects of a modern software development lifecycle
Ability to deliver speedy and cost-efficient solutions

Responsibilities

Lead the AI-native engineering of the product across the software development lifecycle
Follow and improve ways of working, enforce and refine best practices
Lead the team in ensuring practices are best practice, efficient, and continually evolving with AI
Help design, build, and maintain one or more capabilities for the Backbase Mobile Platform
Be part of a multidisciplinary squad delivering end-to-end solutions from concept to production
Address complex business requirements, translating them into technical designs and implementations
Deliver high-quality, performant, clean, and maintainable software
Contribute to all aspects of product development: gathering feedback & requirements, implementing functionality, writing tests, documentation, and providing adoption support
Lead, mentor, and coach colleagues, guiding their professional growth
Uphold engineering standards across the product and proactively propose/lead initiatives to improve engineering excellence
Show an AI-native mindset: proactively explore, experiment with, and apply AI tools and agentic frameworks (e.g., code generation, test automation, dev productivity)
Encourage AI adoption across engineering workflows and product capabilities
