Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company's pipeline procedures regarding pipeline operations and maintenance within 120 days
  • Must be qualified in specific tasks according to the Company's Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan
  • 1 - 2 years related work experience preferred
  • Department of Transportation CDL license with HazMat endorsement required within 60 days after reporting into the job
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers
  • Ability to work in stressful and changing environmental conditions
  • Ability to work under time pressure, tight deadlines, and interruptions
  • Ability to use a personal computer with the Windows® operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive e-mail, and access information posted on the Company’s intranet
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
  • Ability to follow instructions or standard procedures
  • Ability to compile and/or examine information and select the best action from defined alternatives

  • Physical demands: Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly; includes standing constantly, walking constantly, sitting frequently, plus walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and wearing personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work frequently outside with occasional exposure to extreme heat and/or cold
  • Potential travel requirements 26-75%

Responsibilities

  • Perform various labor tasks associated with maintenance and construction of a steel pipeline system, including driving commercial vehicles, operating equipment, and damage prevention
  • Provide labor and/or inspection support on various pipeline & facility maintenance projects
  • Perform Damage Prevention activities including but not limited to line locating & ROW (Right of Way) Marking
  • Provide assistance to other crew members, welders, or technicians as needed
  • Adapt to constantly changing tasks and assignments in a variety of environmental conditions
  • Operate medium-weight duty to full-sized trucks; load and unload materials; operate boom, winch, vacuum trailer, and other truck auxiliary equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately and safely complete tasks according to the Company Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan and System Integrity Plan (SIP)
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline
  • Be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions
  • Includes certain administrative functions associated with this position
