Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in-house counsel
- 10+ years’ experience of patent litigation at a law firm and/or as an in-house counsel
- Experience leading or managing litigators as a senior associate / junior partner at major law firms and/or litigation boutiques
- Broad range of patent litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, jury/bench trial, arbitration and mediation, investigations before the International Trade Commission, PTAB-related proceedings, and experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to formulate successful litigation strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team consisting of members from different regions, countries, and business units, including the ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive
- Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability
- Openness to feedback, actively seeks constructive criticism, and integrates it to continuously improve performance
Responsibilities
- Manage high exposure patent litigation matters
- Oversee the preparation of witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Formulate winning litigation strategies and tactics
- Assist in drafting and reviewing briefs, motions, and court pleadings
- Manage litigation fees and costs
- Coordinate internal document collection and production
- Advise management and internal teams on impactful issues
- Attend industry conferences to gain insights and network with peers
