  • Ability to work under the coaching of the Packaging Design & Development Director
  • Experience ensuring primary packages protect, contain, and display products from initial idea through final use
  • Capability to collaborate across the enterprise with key internal partners to define packaging requirements and identify optimal solutions
  • Experience collaborating directly with product vendors and packaging suppliers to deliver solutions on time, at lowest cost, meeting sustainability commitments and legislative requirements

  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous packaging projects, meeting business needs, sustainability, cost savings, on time and on budget

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of packaging for Target’s owned brands, exclusive partnerships, and select transit packaging
  • Drive sales and brand love through consumer-centric, on-brand, competitive “at shelf,” and category-relevant packaging
  • Collaborate across internal teams and external partners to deliver packaging solutions exceeding consumer expectations, aligning with brand vision, navigating supply chain complexities, and advancing sustainability goals
  • Leverage structural packaging expertise for assigned categories in Discretionary businesses
  • Ensure primary packages protect, contain, and display products from initial idea through final use for assigned categories and businesses
  • Work with key internal partners to define packaging requirements and identify optimal solutions
  • Collaborate with product vendors and packaging suppliers to deliver solutions meeting business and consumer needs, on time, at lowest cost, ensuring sustainability and legislative compliance
  • Drive sustainability initiatives by reducing material use, phasing out problematic plastics, and supporting EPR regulations compliance
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through material optimization
