  • For Outpatient Therapist I: Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH) or Clinical Social Worker - Practitioner in Private Practice (CSW-PIP) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - active license in the state of practice upon hire
  • For Outpatient Therapist III: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - SD and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - QMPH within 30 days of hire
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work specified hours (Day Shift)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to severe social adjustment problems
  • Adheres to policies assuring confidentiality of client communications
  • Provides a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to client treatment, coordinating with appropriate hospital departments
  • Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with National Association of Social Workers principles
  • Assesses client/patient progress and modifies or extends treatment programs accordingly
  • Coordinates client/patient care with referring physician or agency
  • Documents therapy in accordance with hospital policies and procedures in medical records
  • Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment (e.g., substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes)
  • Refers clients/patients to outside agencies where appropriate
  • Communicates with family members/significant others to enhance treatment effectiveness
  • Coordinates client/patient billing and modifies treatment programs based on insurance coverage, plan provisions, and ability to pay
  • Provides educational programs on psychological topics to hospital/community groups as requested
  • Assists in coordinating, planning, implementing, and facilitating outpatient programs and counseling services, including individual/group/family counseling, crisis services/evaluation, tele-therapy, assessments, treatment, crisis intervention, and community/education services (some travel required)
