Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license, and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Prior experience in an outpatient setting, particularly with hemodialysis patients, is preferred. The role requires strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This includes collecting and analyzing patient data, making treatment plan adjustments, performing hemodialysis therapy, administering medications, assessing patient learning needs and providing education, initiating emergency response measures, and serving as a resource for the healthcare team. They also participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities, while ensuring correct laboratory procedures are followed and documenting patient care effectively.
