Requirements

  • Serve as a team leader in patient care model with support of collaborating physician
  • Work in one or more levels of care (inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient), in live and virtual environments
  • Licensed to provide services at assigned locations across multiple states (e.g., Wisconsin, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington)
  • Participate in established call schedule
  • Meet patient productivity standards
  • Complete all charting, documentation, and coding within 24 hours and in compliance with organizational expectations
  • Attend Medical Staff meeting and Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting

Responsibilities

  • Attend patients at assigned sites, including multiple locations, levels of care, or virtual services
  • Conduct medication management sessions with patients
  • Conduct patient psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Conduct history and physical
  • Create patient treatment plans and manage updates
  • Perform patient and family education
  • Participate in team and unit meetings
  • Create discharge plans
  • Serve as attending provider for assigned units
  • Round on patients as required
  • Provide medication education to nursing staff
  • In-service treatment team as needed
  • Assist in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with contracted payors
  • Review all denials of service from payors for medical reasons
  • Interface with referring parties, psychiatrist, primary care AHP to coordinate care and aftercare
  • Market Employer through off-site meetings and activities
  • Review potential admissions, pending cases, and declined admissions to ensure policy execution and EMTALA compliance
  • Serve as advocate for the organization, providing support, information, education, and services
  • Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement activities, and meetings
  • Identify new program development opportunities for patient care services
  • Participate in community education on behavioral health issues
  • Provide initial placement recommendations based on admitting criteria, clinical parameters, medical history, and screening documentation
  • Review and evaluate completed admission screenings to determine appropriate program, level of care, and mode of delivery
  • Communicate professionally and accurately with departments, agencies, and team members
  • Report pertinent data to attending provider and team
  • Prioritize effectively in urgent situations and communicate difficult problems immediately
